10th May 2013 – It would appear that my previous posting regarding Edward having returned home to New Zealand were somewhat premature. He was home in New Zealand, but he had left his Boat “Sprit of Rema” in Cape Town. He later returned to Cape Town to continue his voyage. As I write this Edwards whereabouts are unknown and many of his friends are becoming very concerned. If you have any information or have had any contact with Edward since January 2013 please let Gerald know so that we can pass on any updates. Obviously we hope all is well, but we do know the reputation of the Southern Ocean.

25th January 2013 ~ Some great news from the other side of the world, we have received a text from Edward (Rema) to say that after 4 months in the South Atlantic, he has now arrived home back in New Zealand We look forward to hearing some more details, but are relieved and in admiration at this amazing achievement. And receiving this news during Burns nicht is an added joy. We look forward to hopefully a book and a chance to catch up on all that has past since Edward departed Stornoway on his epic return (single handed) back to New Zealand. I am sure many will wish to join me is sending our congratulations and wishes for a great relaxing summer back down under.
