Hebridean Maritime Festivals

Sail Hebrides lets young people enjoy, understand and respect the marine environment by providing fun, educational sailing experiences and maritime festivals. The Hebridean Maritime Festivals are held annually in Stornoway, main town on the Hebridean island of Lewis. 2009 sees the 11th Hebridean Maritime Festival, you can download a copy of our programme here.

These friendly Festivals are open to everyone. If you have a traditional boat, a modern boat or just want to come and join in you are welcome. Whether you are an old hand or a novice does not matter. There is sailing in company, food, music, cameraderie, receptions, displays, sailing tuition, sailing challenges to suit all tastes and PRIZES.

In past years we have had boats from the USA, Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland, Poland, Norway, Sweden and, of course, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We have had great fun on land and at sea, have made many friends and have introduced many young people to the sea.
